[00:03] [Unknown] You’re listening to Swinger University, with Ed and Phoebe, offering you the naked facts about swinging.

[00:13] [Guest] Here are your hosts, Ed and Phoebe.

[00:18] [Unknown] Hi, this is Ed.

[00:22] [Guest] And this is Phoebe.

[00:24] [Ed] Today we’re talking about fake dating and Swinger sites.

[00:31] [Unknown] Little history.

[00:34] [Ed] When I was single, I always had this weird suspicion that the profiles that I was looking through on in this particular case it was match were fake.
And I couldn’t ever figure out how to tell if they were fake or if they were real.
But I’d send messages to these women and I had a pretty good dating profile.

[01:00] [Unknown] You had an excellent dating profile, like professional photos and everything.
Right.

[01:07] [Ed] It was good.
And I’m a decent looking guy and I am fairly well spoken and wrote nice emails to people to kind of introduce myself and kick the conversation off.
Crickets.
And like the six months that I was on match I got nothing, not a single response.
Crazy.
Anyway, recently Swinger University, as just some of you listeners know or as you’ll know now, we publish all of our episodes on YouTube as well as our Libson account for the podcast.
We’ve got grand visions for things that we’d like to do on YouTube.
This is actually one of the first episodes that we’re going to record, which will have a visual component to it.
So I’m going to record some screen clips as I walk through this episode and kind of talk you through what our experience was.
So I’m going to go ahead and start my.

[02:15] [Unknown] Do we get to see naked boobs?

[02:18] [Ed] There will be semi erotic, semi erotic photographs, but they’re all g-rated because they’re publicly accessible.

[02:29] [Phoebe] Boobies.

[02:30] [Ed] So here we go.
This is the episode. This is fake dating sites.
We stumbled into this rabbit hole of deceit through basically YouTube scammers.
We stumbled on them because they started using our names, Swinger University, and one of our taglines in the title for their YouTube videos.

[02:55] [Unknown] I was pissed off.

[02:59] [Ed] Followed the rabbit hole, started looking at who this was, and it was a website called Australia Swingers.com.
They were basically stringing together random images and random audio.
They were speaking over these slide shows, but they were showing a whole bunch of other people, like Open Love 101, Average Swingers, a bunch of other podcasters.
They had our pictures up there on this kind of slideshow bullshit that they had.
And if you followed the channel, if you went up to the head channel, it was like some random vanilla person’s name, like Andrea Butler or something like that.
It was silly. It didn’t make any sense. It wasn’t content, but they were using keywords to try and trigger a whole bunch of people to click through to go to that website, Australia Swingers.com.

[04:10] [Unknown] Oh, so this directly affects listeners or potential listeners.

[04:16] [Ed] Potentially, yeah, if people were listening and they were looking for Swinger University, they were looking for Open Love 101 or actual legitimate Swinger information.

[04:27] [Phoebe] They might find this video, click on their link, think they’re going to their site when they’re not.

[04:33] [Ed] Right. I’ll make it even worse. They were so dumb that they didn’t actually put a clickable link in any of their videos.
Oh, so they didn’t get very far, but I still issued a bunch of takedown notices for them because, like I said, they’re using our pictures and our logo in a few places without our permission.
It’s not okay. We do not endorse them. We do not endorse any of the sites that we’re going to show you in this video.
So here we go. I followed the rabbit trail.

[05:10] [Phoebe] This is where it gets all geeked out. So if you’re in a geeky mood, listen in.

[05:16] [Unknown] And it’s more than geeking out, like I geek out about it because I’ve got skills in the web to do certain things.

[05:27] [Ed] But you’re going to benefit from that because I’m going to tell you, all of you listeners, how to very quickly tell if a site is real or not and whether those profiles are real or not.
It’s actually a really easy test. I’ll get into that.

[05:43] [Phoebe] So could they transfer some of this information to any other website?

[05:51] [Ed] Oh, that’s good.
Including checking people’s profile pictures on legitimate swinger sites.

[05:57] [Phoebe] This is going to be good, you guys.

[05:59] [Ed] So this technique, there’s a technique that I’m going to demonstrate in this video, but I’m also going to talk about it because I’m doing a visual thing, but I have to do a podcast too.
So this will be, this will be a little tricky, but we’re going to try and do it. Got it.

[06:14] [Phoebe] All right. You can do it. I’ve confidence.

[06:16] [Ed] So I went to AustraliaSwingers.com and I started clicking around on the website.
So let’s see if I can go to that site first.
So here is AustraliaSwingers.com.

[06:30] [Unknown] Yep.

[06:31] [Ed] Sexy lady.

[06:32] [Phoebe] Sexy lady.

[06:33] [Ed] Lounge backwards on nice leather sofa.
Yep.

[06:37] [Unknown] What’s interesting about this is on the surface, this looks totally legit.

[06:43] [Ed] It looks like dating site, right?
You pick your profile, your IML, female couple, CD trans.
You basically click one of those and you can click next.
And you can even see some things up in the corner where you’ve got all these signs of logging in.
We value your privacy.
There’s a little banner that pops up down at the bottom.
It feels legit.
I followed the breadcrumbs, the rabbit.
And you’ll notice in this video, I have 100 tabs open.

[07:22] [Unknown] So for those who are listening, picture a browser window with 100 tabs open.
One, it’s terribly unproductive.

[07:31] [Ed] But two, I stopped looking when I hit 100.
Oh my.
So I bookmarked them all and I’ve opened them up in a single browser window just so that I can kind of page through some of the things that you’re going to find.
Okay, wait, wait, wait.

[07:47] [Phoebe] So this company has created at least 100 different web pages.

[07:55] [Ed] Yes.

[07:56] [Phoebe] OMG.

[07:58] [Ed] And it’s not a single company.

[08:00] [Unknown] So I’ll rephrase that a little bit.

[08:04] [Ed] There are a couple companies that are doing things like this.
A lot of these sites are all associated with each other.
But needless to say, with just this one path that I went through the internet, this one rabbit that I was chasing down the hole,
I found 100 sites, which tells you there are other rabbits and there are hundreds of other sites.

[08:32] [Phoebe] Because you know how rabbits multiply.

[08:34] [Ed] Yes.
This is all over the internet.
Oh my goodness.
And I think it’s really important that everybody who’s listening and watching this can see what to look for.
Alright.

[08:47] [Phoebe] Save their pocketbook.

[08:49] [Ed] Yeah.

[08:50] [Unknown] And there’s a component to this, which is these are scam sites.

[08:57] [Ed] They’re not actually really swinger sites.
And they will get your credit card and start charging you on a monthly basis.
And if they were actually providing a service like helping you hook up with other swingers, that would be fine.
But I can almost guarantee, except for the other suckers who signed up for their credit card, there are no other swingers.
Yeah.
So here we go.

[09:26] [Unknown] First thing to look for.

[09:31] [Ed] And I’m going to kind of point this out at the top here.
This online dating guardian protected.
Alright.
So it’s this little like seal of approval in the upper corner.

[09:44] [Phoebe] Looks great.

[09:45] [Ed] Yeah.
It looks totally official.
I must be protected.
There’s this online dating guardian protected thing.
It doesn’t go anywhere.

[09:55] [Unknown] There is no organization called online dating guardian protected.

[10:01] [Ed] Like it’s not a thing.
Oh, this is a…
And you can see it down in the corner of your browser.
If you mouse over this, it says JavaScript scroll sign up.
So there’s a JavaScript that runs when you click on this to get you to just sign up.
So if I scroll to the…
If I scroll around on the page and I click that again, it’s going to scroll the page back up to the top to get you to sign up.
So is now real is all bullshit.

[10:32] [Phoebe] It’s just a fake.

[10:34] [Ed] It makes you feel good.
Sticker.
Yeah.
It makes you feel good.

[10:38] [Phoebe] It looks like a gold star, but it’s not really a gold star.

[10:40] [Ed] It’s like a shield.
It’s like a gold…

[10:42] [Phoebe] No, I know, but like, you know, you get a gold star from your teacher.
Right.
But it’s not really…

[10:47] [Ed] This one’s made of poop.
Oh.
There you go.
The other thing too is you can kind of scroll through and I’m scrolling down the page and you can see a whole bunch of stuff.
They talk up a good game here.
Meet local users for fun times.
Discrete swinging fun.

[11:08] [Unknown] I’ll agree to this.

[11:12] [Ed] Then down here at the bottom, you can see that they accept MasterCard Visa.
They’ve got some more online guardian stuff, which when you click the one at the bottom, takes you back to the top of the page because it’s the same JavaScript to sign up.

[11:26] [Unknown] And there’s another gold lock in a shield.

[11:31] [Ed] It does the same thing.
It takes you back up to the sign up.
So there’s nothing here.
Now, first thing to notice on this site is it is powered by Desdemona Limited.
Terms and conditions, privacy policy and blah, blah, blah.
They got their little legal disclaimer down at the bottom.
So this is a company called Desdemona Limited.

[11:50] [Unknown] All right.

[11:51] [Ed] Remember that.

[11:52] [Unknown] Got it.

[11:54] [Ed] Now what’s interesting is, oh look, here’s a whole series of profile pictures.
And it says some of our users.
Well, already this is crap because if I and you right click on this and choose search Google for image.

[12:16] [Unknown] So if you right click on any image on the internet, most sites will let you do this.

[12:21] [Ed] Sometimes they block the right click.
This one doesn’t.
And if I search Google for that particular image, what’s interesting is you will find a whole bunch of other swinger websites that use that exact photograph.
In other words, just bang me.
Club Aphrodite.
Let’s see what’s the other one.
Ireland swingers.com.

[12:49] [Unknown] Oh, wait.
What?

[12:51] [Ed] Ireland swingers.com.
Wait, but I wait.
In Australia, because I’m Australia swingers.com.
So if I’m an Australian couple and I want to hook up with somebody.

[13:07] [Phoebe] Why?

[13:08] [Ed] Apparently I have to fly to Ireland to actually hook up with them because this photo is also on an Irish swingers website.

[13:18] [Unknown] So yeah, I mean, there’s, there’s a possibility that that individual signed up for more than one site.

[13:26] [Phoebe] But the fact that they’re in two different countries, that right there says that’s not something don’t smell right.

[13:33] [Ed] Something don’t smell right.
So I clicked on the next profile, little right clicky thing.
Oh, look at this.
Life swapping 247co.uk.
Wait, what?
I was in Australia.
I went from Australia swingers.com.
And now I’m looking at a UK picture.
So this is two pictures so far.
Both of them go back to the United Kingdom one in Ireland and one in Great Britain someplace who knows where.
So he’s, here’s another website.
Connect for fun swingers.
Swingerfinderco.uk.

[14:11] [Unknown] Cord global.

[14:15] [Ed] Conscious open relationship dating.
There’s two whole pages of results.
Wife swapping 247.
Oh, that was the same one that we had before.
All right, let’s close this guy.
Let’s go back.
Let’s pick, let’s pick one of these single ladies.
Why not?
Search Google for image.

[14:35] [Unknown] There she is.

[14:37] [Ed] There’s the same image.
And if I scroll down, oh, look at this.
Women looking for sex.co.uk.
Naughty swingers.co.uk.
Central swingers.co.uk.
Hornhub.com.
Club appetite.
So you can kind of see where I’m going with this.

[14:58] [Guest] Mm-hmm.

[14:59] [Unknown] Every single one of these pictures is reused on a whole bunch of different swingersites.

[15:06] [Ed] What they’ve done is they’ve purchased stock photography of couples.

[15:11] [Unknown] And they’re using it on their website to entice you listeners to sign up,

[15:17] [Ed] give them a credit card, start chatting.
And…
My gosh.
Cheching.
They are automatically withdrawing money from your accounts.

[15:26] [Phoebe] Wait, what if I…
Okay, so wait.
What if I go ahead, I do it.
And I realize later, after I’ve watched this podcast,
that I’m being screwed in the ass, and I don’t like it.

[15:40] [Unknown] Well.

[15:41] [Ed] Yeah, yeah.

[15:42] [Phoebe] How do I cancel my credit card?

[15:45] [Ed] That’ll be a little tricky, because a lot of times these sites make it very difficult for you to cancel.
First thing you should do is probably call your credit card company and report it as being fraudulent.
Most of your credit card companies will help you with stuff like this.
Now, because it’s international, you may have problems.
Interesting.
All the more reason to do your research before you sign up.
All right, so I’m going to click across.
Now we’re in Canada.

[16:14] [Unknown] Cool.

[16:15] [Ed] Canadian swingers.

[16:16] [Guest] Yeah.

[16:17] [Ed] Our northern neighbors.
Now what’s interesting is, hey, wait a second.
That’s the same couple.
Two, four, three.
Somebody just ripping off again.

[16:30] [Phoebe] So they’re in UK, Ireland, and Canada?

[16:33] [Unknown] Yeah.

[16:34] [Ed] It’s interesting.

[16:35] [Phoebe] Wow, they get around.

[16:36] [Ed] They fly.
They have a private jet, apparently, and they are hooking up with everybody on all of the continents.
No.
More than likely, like I said, these are all stock.
Stock photographs.
Yeah.
And they’re real people, but they’re not real swingers, and they’re not really on this site.
Like, it’s just garbage.
And how disappointed would you be if you were a Canadian swinger and you’d signed up on a site hoping to find a hookup with somebody,
and that all of these profiles are fake?

[17:11] [Phoebe] Wow.

[17:12] [Unknown] And what bothers me isn’t that you can meet hot couples.

[17:17] [Ed] Like, there’s background images on the site of just models in lingerie, little speedos, and stuff.
I get websites using stock photography to create a sexy vibe.
But this site specifically says, and I quote, some of our users, it’s right there.
They’re lying on the very first page of their website.

[17:46] [Unknown] Wow.

[17:47] [Phoebe] Yeah, but how many is some?
Maybe there’s only, well, some is more than one.

[17:57] [Ed] Well, the good news if you’re an Irish swinger, a lot of those pictures are in the UK.
And you can see that there’s some of the same people in here.
Let’s see Ireland’s best swingers site.
This is iriswingers.ie.
Oh, same profile pictures.
Notice the redhead.

[18:15] [Unknown] Swinger zone.

[18:18] [Ed] Local swingers contacts.
I mean, I could go through a whole bunch of these.
But the real interesting thing with this is not of them are real.
Right.
Like, that’s what this all comes down to.
There’s every combination of swinger and kink and BDSM and poly and you name a catchphrase, a tag.
They’ve used it.
They’ve created a domain for it, and they are sucking people in.
Wow.
Yeah.

[18:52] [Unknown] It’s all right.

[18:59] [Guest] We need your help so that your community, the very one you love and have so much fun with can also find our show.
Here’s a really easy way to do that.

[19:10] [Ed] If you’re listening on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, hit that follow button and leave us a rating.
If you’re watching on YouTube, subscribe and turn on notifications.
We can’t emphasize enough how much this helps the swinger community and it truly is up to you to make that happen.
It makes a massive difference in whether new listeners can even find us.
And here’s the thing.
When someone searches Swinger Podcast, the algorithm doesn’t care how good our content is or how long we’ve been around.
It only cares about ratings and reviews.
And your community will really appreciate it.
Thanks for listening.

[19:55] [Phoebe] What else would I be able to potentially notice on these websites that might give me some sort of clue as to them being a cookie cutter format that’s perhaps being used by the same company to scam me out of my money?

[20:19] [Ed] It’s pretty hard to without doing this Google search to start seeing that the same images are being used by a whole bunch of different dating sites.
There are, and I’m looking for it here, there’s, ah, here we go.
So here’s three some dating.com.
What I noticed was there’s actually a website and I’ll post a link in the notes, the show notes for it, called Dating Spot 24.
Now I stumbled across this because some of that stock photography showed up here because they caught on to this too.
And what’s interesting is this is for, you know, the USA and Canada, and they talk about, they rate and review dating sites.
Ah, so they’ve rated and reviewed, um, Ashley Madison, E. Harmony, um, International Cupid, but some of these other sites started showing up on their list.
And what’s interesting is if you start reading it, the online dating platform, casualsexonly.com, advertises with a free registration and casual hookups for everyone.
After doing sufficient research, we can tell you that this is not the place to go for real sex dates.
Casualsexonly.com is awfully expensive. On top of that, it is a fake chat scam.
Ah, so it’s a known scam.
Oh my gosh. And what’s really cool is this website talks, they have a whole section in here called Dating Ripoff.
And Dating Ripoff, the latest articles. There’s a whole bunch of articles in here about dating sites and how they rip you off, the subscription, how to recognize a fake chat ripoff.
So they probably have bots or they’ve got like a call center where they interact with you, making you feel like you’re actually engaged with real couples.
But nothing’s ever going to happen. My gosh.
And it becomes this subscription trap where they get you in, they’ve got your credit card and off you go.

[22:31] [Unknown] So let’s see, there’s another one in here. They talk about how to recognize it.

[22:42] [Ed] And they’re pushing Ashley Madison and Neharm and the other stuff.
But they basically say, you know, check their website, double check using a search engine and then take a quick look at the terms and conditions.
Now we all hate reading those so long terms and conditions. But in this particular case, it might make sense.
My best advice. Go with a more mainstream dating site. Look at SLS, look at Cassidy, double date nation.
Look at recognize Swinger communities, reddit.com for example, they have a swingers group and look for dating sites and dating profile sites through those avenues.

[23:32] [Unknown] Doing a random Google search and finding swingers will burn your credit card.com.

[23:39] [Ed] Probably not such a good thing.
Oh, this is terrible. It is. It’s really, really terrible.
And to clarify at the beginning, I said that I had this weird suspicion with match. I don’t know that matches fake.
It was just this weird sensation I had. And I had the same weird spider sense when I was looking at these sites too.
And following the rep, you know, the like I said, following the breadcrumbs, I found out that that was true.

[24:09] [Phoebe] But so I have had friends get married off of a match and have very good success.

[24:17] [Ed] Yeah, no, it’s it theoretically is a very legit site. I just had crappy luck on it.
So it’s fun about this dating spot 24 is there’s a bunch of reviews on here. They review sites.
You can see a lot of these red thumbs down when they talk about things flirtinlove.com VIP free hookup matches.
Transflirt. Bang his wife.com. So anyway, just buyer beware.
A lot of these are not legit. And I’m kind of thumbing through some of these.
But they’re they’re crap. Now one of the other things you’ll start to notice too with a lot of these sites is when you scroll down to the bottom of them.
You’ll start to see the same companies are running it. This is this is actually a pretty cute one.
This is Irish swingers.ie. And down at the bottom they have McAfee Secure and Norton Secured.

[25:17] [Unknown] Do they even exist anymore? Well, they do. But they’re you’re viewing a website with profiles. It’s not like you’re downloading software.

[25:28] [Ed] And so what are they scanning the photos? It’s just nonsense. They put these things up to make you feel confident.
Oh my gosh. Look at how secure they are. So secure. Yeah.
Join today 100% free until we get your credit card. Oh my goodness.
So there you go. It’s scary to think that there’s these sites running around that there’s this many companies doing this.
A lot of them are in Ireland. I don’t know why they’re in Dublin. I don’t know why Ireland has become the the Maca for this.
But most of the sites that I was following all were kind of centered in that area.

[26:17] [Unknown] Here’s some companies that are going through this scam.

[26:26] [Ed] Companies like Vod Fun Pay, Sintelet, Blue Mouse Limited, Desdemona Limited, Hub People, Augustine Limited, Net Fan Picks Limited.
What’s funny is they all have this limited like they’re like an LLC limited liability corporation. But really they’re an international scam corporation.
Oh my gosh. Just look out for them.
Oh yeah. There was another one, SOL Networks Limited, which I thought was hilarious because it should out of luck.
Networks Limited, which is what your credit card is going to be.
So yeah. It’s so rude. It’s pretty bad.

[27:16] [Unknown] Like I said, they use all the right images and whatever.

[27:21] [Ed] But as I’m clicking through these, you’ll see most of them are just they’re just cookie cutters of each other.
I mean, they literally have the same layout.
Yeah. They’ll either have the same layout with just different pictures and a different name.

[27:36] [Phoebe] Oh yeah. Look at that.

[27:38] [Ed] They’ll have, oh yeah. Here’s one X-PAT swingers.

[27:42] [Unknown] Swinging near me. Let’s see. Here’s one swingers zone.
That one looks like a community site, but I don’t know how much content is in there that’s actually shit.

[27:57] [Ed] Unicorn dates, wife swapping 24 seven. This is that one that a lot of those pictures came up.
Well, they’re all in here as part of this community site.

[28:07] [Unknown] Here’s why we sail on Virgin. It’s adults only.

[28:16] [Guest] No kids screaming at breakfast. No family buffet lines.
Just champagne at noon, late night pool parties, and people who actually want to be there.

[28:28] [Unknown] The vibe? Think boutique hotel that happens to float.

[28:34] [Guest] Tattoo parlors, drag brunch, restaurants you’d actually pay for on land.
Plus, when you’re looking to connect with other couples who know how to have fun,
let’s just say Virgin attracts a very specific type of adventurous.

[28:50] [Unknown] No wonder bread cruisers here. Just your people.

[28:58] [Phoebe] I wonder if they actually took people’s photos and didn’t pay for the stock photos.
It’s very possible.

[29:06] [Ed] No, and what’s interesting is through a Google search,
you wouldn’t be able to find something that was behind something legitimate like SLS.
Right.
Those a good website, a private website, is not going to let you spider their images.
The way search engines work for those of you who are not as geeky as me,
Google has something called a search spider, and it crawls the web.
That’s why they came up with the term spider.
It finds sites, it finds images, and it reports them back to the mothership,
and they catalog all of that stuff in their locations.
A good website will actually block spiders from browsing through their content.
Most of the time it’s through a password protection anyway,
but a lot of times even on a public site you can block spiders.
There’s a little command you put into your web page is to prevent that.
But if you actually had swinger profiles and you were concerned about anonymity,
you wouldn’t be putting their pictures up on the front page.
There’s another red flag for you, right?

[30:13] [Phoebe] I didn’t think about that.

[30:15] [Ed] Here’s a nice dominatric site for you, the way out club.
If you’re not a swinger, you’re just dating.
You also can fall victim to this as well.
This is just a regular dating site.

[30:33] [Phoebe] Oh wow.

[30:34] [Ed] Here’s dating, dogging, club Aphrodite,
but you can see as I’m clicking through these things,
they’re literally cookie cutter of each other,

[30:45] [Unknown] and you’ll see that privacy banner that pops up.

[30:50] [Ed] The cookie banner, those are all the same.
There it is.
There’s that online dating guardian protected.
It’s on all of these triplesex.com.
We are hookups.

[31:03] [Unknown] Interesting.

[31:06] [Ed] Yeah.

[31:07] [Unknown] Gosh.
This is crazy.

[31:11] [Ed] It is.
It’s very crazy.
Here’s a…

[31:14] [Phoebe] So it’s all set up just to get your money.
It is.

[31:18] [Ed] And what they’ve done is they’ve…

[31:21] [Unknown] And which is your time.

[31:24] [Ed] Spread these out all over the internet with a whole bunch of keywords
to just gather people as quickly as they can.
You were searching for BDSM dating sites that would come up.
Here’s one.
This one’s cute.
I think this is actually a legit stock photo.
I don’t think they doctored it, but it’s dating for cross-dressers.
Cute little blonde guy with his lipstick on.
He didn’t leave peak you.
I mean, there’s a whole bunch in here.

[31:59] [Unknown] Go rooting, bisexual time.

[32:02] [Ed] I have a couple of these that repeat.
The adult hubs.
See this one looks like a…
It looks a little different.
It looks a little different.
This one kind of starts to sound like it might be a…
Like a community site.
Right.
We’ve got that same privacy warning down there at the bottom.
And there’s the adult hub again.
And after you’ve gotten in, you can see there’s a bunch of profiles in here.
But all of these are fake too.
Club Aphrodite, again.
Casual dating 69.

[32:32] [Phoebe] Well, what is your last $100 million advice?

[32:43] [Ed] $100 million advice is…
Be careful who you give your credit card to.
Yeah.
And really scrutinize the websites.
And like I said, look for dating sites through legitimate sources.
Start with the well-known ones.
So if you’re just a single in your dating, look at the okay cupids,
the matches, the e-harmonies, those are great places to go.
Start with free stuff.
As soon as you sign in and they start blocking you behind a paywall
and you’ve got to give them money, you should probably scrutinize them a little bit more.
Read the terms of service.
Look through the website.
Do this Google search trick that I’m showing you.
And make sure that this is an actual website that’s going to give you actual people, like real people.

[33:35] [Phoebe] So if you go to a legit site, we’ll just continue to use the harmony and match.
So you go, because they’ve been around for forever.
Yes.
I consider them pretty reputable.
You go in, you’re trying to find a mate, and you see this cute guy or this cute woman.
And you’re like, wow.
But maybe it sounds too good to be true, or he just looks too good.
And you’re like, wow, that looks like a really great photo.
Looks like professional.
I wonder if he had professional photos.
Could you right click or do a Google search on his photo?
You said you couldn’t because it was behind the…

[34:15] [Ed] Well, they could still publish their pictures through to places like Instagram.
They could put them up on Facebook.
So if it’s a real person and it’s just a dating site, it’s pretty likely that you’ll be able to Google somebody and find them.
Yeah.
It’s the swinger site.
So we’re in kind of a sensitive category where you don’t necessarily want your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and church goers to know that you’re a swinger.
So that’s where the anonymity comes in.
But for regular dating, it’s pretty easy to right click on a profile and find out if they’re legit or not.
I will say just because you don’t find the image doesn’t mean that it is legit.
It tends to be true, but it’s not always true.
Right.

[35:09] [Unknown] It’s just a good check.

[35:11] [Phoebe] And most swingers are not posting their face pics so…
Right.

[35:16] [Unknown] …if you are finding this man or woman on a cover of Vogue or maximum then…

[35:24] [Ed] Then you know.

[35:25] [Phoebe] You know that it’s not a real photo of this particular man.
And he may be legit.
He may have created a legit profile, but maybe the photo he used is not.
So it’s a nice way to double check.

[35:41] [Ed] Yeah.

[35:42] [Unknown] And it’s not a hard and fast rule.

[35:47] [Ed] It’s not a guarantee.
But like I said, reading the terms of service, checking websites, and definitely vet your source.
Where did you find this site?
If you just found it through a Google search, maybe it’s legit.
Maybe it’s not.
Do a little research.
You can certainly check, you know, in the United States you can check better business bureau, but you can do ICANN searches.
Look for these company names.
You know, there’s going to be a whole list of these.
I don’t want to publish the names of these sites in the notes because I don’t want to give them any more traffic than they’re already getting.

[36:26] [Phoebe] Right.

[36:27] [Ed] But I will publish these company names and I will publish this dating spot 24 in the show notes just so that you have a source to verify and validate.
Excellent.

[36:39] [Unknown] I love it.

[36:40] [Ed] Like I said, I personally like to stick with sites like SLS Cassidy.com.
Why?
Because I know there’s swingers there because I’ve actually met them.
I’ve talked to them.
I’ve shook their hands.
They’ve been around for a while.

[36:52] [Unknown] And you can browse the website and even send communications between swingers without having to pay, which is also a good sign.

[37:03] [Phoebe] And just for clarification, those two sites are mostly familiar to us because they have the most users on the West.
Coast of the United States.
Right.
But I do know that there are other swingers sites that were for the East Coast people.
Yeah.

[37:22] [Ed] And there are international swingers sites as well.
None of the ones that I showed today would be those sites.
But if there’s listeners out there who know of a good international site or know of a good site in your area,
and you want to send it to us in an email, we’d be happy to help point people in the right direction instead of to this hellhole that we call the Internet.
It’s a den of thieves and…
Yes.
It’s terrible.
Terrible, terrible.
So, hopefully you all got something valuable out of this today, at least a cool technique for checking out profiles.

[38:09] [Unknown] And hopefully we saved you some money and some trials, tribulations, pain, suffering, time on the phone or your credit card company.
Oh, gosh, yes.

[38:19] [Ed] All of those things.

[38:21] [Phoebe] Yes.

[38:22] [Ed] So, thank you for listening.

[38:24] [Unknown] Thank you.
