Recapping the fifth day here in Costa Rica. Fetish night, getting out of our slump, and some of the ups and downs of the trip.
Transcript
[00:04] [Guest] Welcome to Swinger University, your horizontal enrichment program.
Group projects were never this much fun.
Here are your hosts, Ed and Phoebe.
[00:19] [Unknown] Hi, this is Ed.
[00:23] [Phoebe] And this is Phoebe.
[00:24] [Ed] Here we are, day five, Costa Rica.
[00:27] [Unknown] LLV, hotel takeover.
[00:31] [Ed] Yes.
[00:32] [Unknown] It’s lovely.
[00:35] [Phoebe] Day five, but I’m winding down a little bit.
I’ll say winding down.
[00:40] [Ed] Yeah, today’s, today feels a little extra humid and hot.
And I’m not sure if it’s just because we’re a bit worn down.
A little worse for wear maybe?
I don’t know.
We did a lot of day drinking yesterday.
So maybe that contributed to the overall.
[01:01] [Phoebe] You did.
I tried to abstain because after we slept in yesterday, I was feeling a little off.
And I realized that drinking the local water probably wasn’t a good idea.
[01:12] [Ed] Which is weird because we’ve never been warned about the water in Costa Rica.
And they don’t have enough bottled water for everybody to go around.
So you pretty much have to drink the tap water or dehydrate and die next to the pool.
So it’s a choose.
[01:30] [Phoebe] Right.
So I’m assuming that bad effect that you all know that we’re talking about is because
of the bacteria in the water.
[01:41] [Ed] It could be the water.
It also could be the food that we ate because we ate it.
[01:46] [Phoebe] But we don’t feel horrible, horrible.
It’s like not monazuma’s revenge from Mexico.
It’s not anywhere near that.
[01:53] [Ed] It’s just a little unpleasant.
[01:56] [Phoebe] Yeah.
[01:57] [Unknown] A little tum tum.
Yes.
[02:00] [Phoebe] I’m some emotimede, a little bit of toms and light on the drinking and you know where you go.
Today, I’m much better.
[02:07] [Unknown] But then you are where I was yesterday.
[02:09] [Ed] Of course I had to pick up.
Because.
[02:11] [Phoebe] Yeah, yeah, to pick up.
[02:12] [Unknown] So there’s that.
[02:14] [Phoebe] So yeah.
[02:15] [Unknown] Yesterday, we did our thing slip in, start off the day slow.
[02:22] [Phoebe] And then we went to town with our new friends.
[02:24] [Ed] Yeah.
To little shopping.
Check out the local shops.
Wooden penis bottle openers.
Like in all the shops.
A lot of carved goods and painted goods.
Yeah.
[02:38] [Phoebe] Coasters and some pretty great carvings down here.
Art work.
It’s pretty phenomenal.
[02:44] [Ed] Yeah.
Really impressed.
The local craft, like if you really want that style of art.
If you want kind of Central American art.
There are some really good artists down here.
And even, I mean, even the really simple coasters.
I mean, a lot of them are hand carved.
[03:01] [Guest] Like they’re, they put some work in.
[03:03] [Ed] And they’ve got these hand turned bowls.
And they’re all from this hardwood that’s local to Costa Rica.
[03:09] [Phoebe] So it’s kind of cool.
Right.
And then at breakfast, they always have some sort of carved fruit.
So they took a catalog and carved it into a flower or something.
Some cool design.
And then took a pineapple and did something crazy cool.
I don’t know.
Fun with fruit.
Do that.
Oh, fun with fruit.
Mmm.
[03:27] [Unknown] Peaches.
[03:28] [Phoebe] Yeah.
So we went to town.
We did the shopping.
And then we found a restaurant that we really liked.
And we sat.
It was right on the beach.
It was so nice.
The breeze was great.
We were under a tree in the shade.
And we ordered fish tacos and margaritas.
And I had a my tie.
I don’t know why I was just feeling it.
[03:46] [Ed] You were feeling particularly tropical.
[03:48] [Phoebe] Going against the grain of everybody else at the table.
I had some nachos.
Oh my god.
I should post how huge that was.
The plate.
[03:56] [Ed] I will put it up on Instagram.
It was not a plate of nachos.
It was a platter of nachos.
We all probably could have eaten that.
And it would have been plenty of food.
[04:08] [Unknown] Yeah.
[04:10] [Phoebe] So that was good.
And we had a great conversation with our new sexy friends.
So that was fun.
And we were all very excited to hook up later.
So there was this long kind of tease throughout the day.
[04:23] [Unknown] Yeah.
[04:24] [Ed] It was brought up a couple times during the conversation
of how liberating and freeing it was to just have that,
that kind of a dialogue, sexy dialogue,
talking about sexual experiences, things that you’ve done,
places that you’ve gone, having sex with other people,
kinds of conversations.
You just can’t have with the local PTA.
It’s just not.
Right.
[04:53] [Phoebe] Plus we talked about, I talked about things that I like.
[04:56] [Ed] Right.
[04:57] [Phoebe] Nipple twisting, but not.
[04:59] [Ed] How much pressure, how little pressure.
Yes.
[05:03] [Phoebe] Sensitive clip versus, yeah, I can’t attack it.
No sticking your tongue around my anus.
Don’t like it.
Don’t like the finger down there.
It’s just annoying.
I was like, really?
Like, yeah, it’s like a fly in your face.
I don’t like it.
He’s like, but you like anal sex?
And I said, I love anal sex.
But you don’t like ass-looking.
No.
So the two to him do make any sense.
[05:28] [Ed] You must be larger than four inches to get on this ride.
Unless you get a really big tongue.
[05:36] [Phoebe] Maybe.
[05:37] [Ed] And that sounds really gross now that I just said it.
[05:40] [Unknown] Right.
[05:41] [Phoebe] So we had some fun sexy conversation as you can see.
And then we, you know, we get back to ride into town.
It was pretty short, not 20 minutes in, 20 minutes out.
We were gone for a good three hours.
Pretty simple, yeah.
It’s nice to get away from the resort.
And we came back, changed clothes, went down to the pool,
and had, oh my gosh, I think we’re in the pool three hours just.
Probably.
[06:07] [Ed] Yeah, probably about that.
The smaller pool seems to be kind of the
[06:14] [Unknown] standard round bob up and down,
[06:19] [Ed] have sexy conversations with people.
Yeah.
The upper pool is more of the volleyball and catch some sun
and kind of sit in your chairs.
[06:29] [Phoebe] Yes.
Yes.
We’ve learned now from other people and somewhat observing ourselves
that if you are just lifestyleers, you’re in the upper pool.
But if you’re swingers, maybe you’re down in the lower pool.
Right.
Something like that.
That was their perspective.
But I don’t know.
I mean, there’s still about 10% of the people in the upper pool
and 90% in the lower pool.
And there’s not 90% swingers here.
[06:54] [Unknown] So.
Yeah.
[06:56] [Ed] And yesterday, even when we were down there,
[06:59] [Unknown] it was still a pretty light volume of people,
[07:03] [Ed] because people were still out on their expedition.
[07:06] [Unknown] Yeah.
[07:07] [Phoebe] 90% or well, 90%.
There were 90 people.
Yeah.
[07:10] [Unknown] 90 people gone about, yeah.
[07:12] [Ed] But we met some great sexy friends.
[07:14] [Unknown] There was a lot of fondling sitting in laps.
[07:18] [Phoebe] Yes.
Squeezing.
Squeezing.
[07:21] [Ed] Squeezing butts.
Yeah.
[07:23] [Unknown] Making out.
[07:24] [Phoebe] Fondling things down below.
[07:26] [Guest] Mm-hmm.
[07:27] [Phoebe] So yeah, we had a good time doing that.
And then we were on our way.
You were on your way to the restroom.
And you got stopped by the yoga couple.
[07:37] [Unknown] Yeah.
[07:38] [Phoebe] And so then I saw Ed over there and I was like,
ooh, Ed’s made some new friends.
So I swam over there.
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do.
Hi.
[07:45] [Unknown] So we made some introductions.
[07:48] [Phoebe] And there were instant sparks.
Who’s just this?
[07:53] [Unknown] Yeah.
[07:55] [Phoebe] And we’re literally in, within a minute or less.
We were making out with them.
Making out with one another.
[08:02] [Ed] Yeah.
[08:03] [Phoebe] Full on.
Oh my god.
Was that fucking hot?
Yeah, that was pretty fun.
[08:07] [Ed] Yes.
[08:08] [Phoebe] Kissers.
[08:09] [Unknown] Oh my god.
[08:12] [Ed] We do love good kissers.
I do.
It’s definitely a thing with us.
[08:16] [Phoebe] Dancing around the lips and the breathing.
You feel the hot breath on your foot.
It was so good.
Okay, so instantly a date was set.
We’re like five minutes.
I don’t know much about them.
Would you like to have sex tomorrow?
Yes.
[08:32] [Unknown] Yes, please.
[08:33] [Ed] We will pencil you into the calendar.
[08:35] [Phoebe] Yes, please.
So we’re going to have some daytime fucking today.
Because later in the evening gets too late.
And they prefer day more day or later in the afternoon.
[08:43] [Ed] We’re like, right.
I really quickly finish up this episode,
because we have business to take care of.
[08:48] [Phoebe] We have to meet up with them.
So yeah, so that was super exciting.
So we already had a date for today, scheduled.
And we had upcoming sex before dinner yesterday.
[09:03] [Unknown] Yeah.
So we get out of the pool.
[09:07] [Phoebe] And yeah, that was almost towards the start of the wind down.
Yeah, the sun had set down.
People were leaving.
[09:13] [Guest] Yeah.
[09:14] [Unknown] So we go up to the room and get cleaned up.
[09:20] [Phoebe] And our lunchtime friends are coming to our place.
Yeah.
So within 20 minutes.
I’m not going to go.
[09:27] [Ed] Brief shower.
Get the pool foam coffee.
Yeah.
[09:30] [Phoebe] They’re in and within, I don’t know, five minutes.
We’re all just getting naked.
I put on some really nice lingerie.
I don’t even remember what you were wearing.
[09:41] [Ed] I think I just had my sarong on.
So one piece of clothing, super, super easy to get.
[09:48] [Phoebe] They were dressed for the event, the British night.
[09:53] [Ed] Nice little sun dress.
And he was dressed for a British night.
Yeah.
[09:58] [Phoebe] Oh, the sun dress on that she had during the day.
[10:00] [Ed] Which we purchased at lunch.
It was very sexy dress.
Oh, yes.
[10:03] [Unknown] Oh my god.
[10:04] [Phoebe] Side boob, the side boob in that dress.
Very nice.
So yeah, so within five minutes, all the clothes were off.
And we were fucking.
We were fingering.
We were fucking.
We were sucking.
We were looking.
It was phenomenal.
It was fun.
Here’s the highlight.
[10:19] [Unknown] We need your help so that your community, the very one you love and have so much fun with,
[10:33] [Ed] can also find our show.
Here’s a really easy way to do that.
If you’re listening on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, hit that follow button and leave us a rating.
If you’re watching on YouTube, subscribe and turn on notifications.
We can’t emphasize enough how much this helps the Swinger community.
And it truly is up to you to make that happen.
It makes a massive difference in whether new listeners can even find us.
And here’s the thing.
When someone searches Swinger Podcast, the algorithm doesn’t care how good our content is.
Or how long we’ve been around.
It only cares about ratings and reviews.
We’d appreciate it.
And your community will really appreciate it.
Thanks for listening.
[11:23] [Unknown] I did not enjoy this part at all.
[11:30] [Ed] It was terrible.
[11:32] [Phoebe] So my favorites is tandem cock sucking.
So our, the misses was on one side of Ed’s cock.
And as you know, I was on the other because it’s tandem.
And so she had her lips around his cock on one side.
I did on the other side.
And we’re looking at each other, looking at the misses.
So in each other, I just something about gazing in someone else’s eyes
and seeing their lips wrapped around your cock.
[12:05] [Ed] It’s pretty hot.
[12:06] [Phoebe] It’s fucking hot.
[12:08] [Ed] Now, we do hope that tandem cock sucking becomes an Olympic sport.
I’m not sure if it’s a winter sport or a summer sport because it would be indoors.
So it could go either way.
It could be like curling.
The new thing.
Oh, yeah.
We definitely needed a documentary about it as well.
[12:27] [Phoebe] Yes.
Yes.
So then we take turns and I put your cock in her mouth and I watch her.
Suck your cock for a bottle.
A little swivel.
A little swivel.
A little swivel.
And then I take it back.
And then I stick it back in her mouth.
And yeah, that was so fun.
[12:43] [Ed] Yeah.
It was nice.
I definitely enjoyed that.
[12:48] [Phoebe] Yeah.
So then we were hungry.
[12:51] [Ed] I was hungry.
A little bit.
A little bit hungry.
[12:54] [Phoebe] I started to kind of rally and I was feeling a little hungry.
But even when I went to go eat, nothing in the buffet was appetizing.
I think that’s just the effects of drinking the water.
So I didn’t eat a lot.
I think I just ate a…
[13:15] [Ed] I had like a little thing of chicken.
And I think you had some cinnamon sugar.
Crispy.
Crispy tortilla things.
[13:21] [Phoebe] And that was that.
Yeah.
[13:23] [Unknown] That’s some tea.
[13:24] [Phoebe] That was hot.
[13:25] [Unknown] It was a small turnout.
Yeah.
[13:30] [Ed] A lot of people were broke from the day.
Yes.
[13:34] [Unknown] Because we asked a ton of people.
[13:37] [Phoebe] So it’s a four hour bus ride.
Up a very windy road.
Some people got motion sick.
Some people, you know, they said it was kind of brutal.
Like just a drive alone.
Then you had this gamut of choices, right?
[13:54] [Unknown] Plethora of choices.
[13:56] [Phoebe] You had horses.
You had zip lining.
You had suspension bridge.
Mud bounce.
Hot springs.
Hiking and water slide.
Some people did almost all of it.
If you wanted to do the water slide,
you had to hike to the top.
Right.
So people’s legs were tired from doing that.
Then if they went to the horses and you never rode a horse before,
then your legs were tired from that.
That will bust you up.
Right.
And then the zip line, I don’t know,
that’s not really very…
Yeah, it’s not too…
Too rough on you.
[14:28] [Ed] Too rough on you.
But even going down the water slide,
they had like an inner tube and you were in water.
But because your butt kind of goes down through
and it was a concrete troth that you were sliding down,
they made you wear leather diapers,
was the way that they described it.
To basically protect your butt from grinding on the concrete.
[14:51] [Unknown] So it’s a little rustic.
Yeah.
[14:56] [Ed] I’m sure it was fun.
I’m sure it was super cool.
And they did say it lasted about 45 seconds to get down.
Oh.
Decent ride.
Decent ride, yeah.
[15:07] [Phoebe] So people were tired.
[15:09] [Unknown] And so, you know, as we suspected,
[15:13] [Phoebe] everyone was tired.
That was a whole day blown for anyone that…
[15:18] [Ed] Yeah, literally from like seven or eight in the morning
until bedtime.
Because people weren’t at the event.
They weren’t at the dance party.
They weren’t participating in fetish night.
Yeah.
[15:31] [Phoebe] So.
[15:32] [Ed] Yeah.
Yeah.
[15:34] [Phoebe] Your mileage will vary.
Yeah.
So they had a performer there last night.
She performs for LLV a lot.
And a lot of their takeovers,
locations, events,
things like that.
Great.
And it was Nila.
And she was dressed all up in her fetish gear
with feathers and a whip and, you know,
boots that die high, boots leather boots.
And I mean, corset, the nine,
she was out even on like a leather mask.
[16:04] [Unknown] And feather headdress.
[16:06] [Phoebe] It was very sexy.
[16:07] [Ed] Shoulder headdress.
Yeah, the feather thingy.
[16:10] [Phoebe] It’s like a feather fan.
[16:11] [Ed] It was over her shoulder.
So it was very regal looking and intimidating.
[16:16] [Phoebe] And she did a performance like the previous night
for about four or five songs.
So it was a good 20-minute performance.
And again, once again, I don’t understand why the DJ
had to get people to clap and hoot and holler.
Right.
I mean, it’s a sexy performance.
And everyone, it was better last night.
But people were not very participatory.
I was looking around being someone
who almost got their degree in sociology.
I’m always studying people and groups of people.
So I’m looking around.
I’m looking at this older gentleman.
He doesn’t even have a smile.
I don’t even have a grin on his face.
[16:55] [Ed] She’s cut it her ass in his face.
Actually, I think, yeah.
[16:59] [Unknown] Yeah, or her pussy.
[17:00] [Phoebe] And she’s almost grinding on his face.
And he, he deadpan.
I’m like, how do you even survive here?
If that looks so offensive to you, I’m not quite sure.
[17:11] [Ed] I don’t know if it was just offended or he’s just like,
[17:14] [Phoebe] his wife kept way too much bow top.
[17:16] [Ed] His wife had a little expression.
[17:17] [Phoebe] His wife had a smile.
[17:18] [Unknown] Right.
[17:20] [Phoebe] Maybe that was it.
His wife was smiling.
She kept checking on her husband.
Mm-hmm.
He was just checked out.
Right.
And then the other group behind us,
a group of six at a table,
totally oblivious to anything else going on,
is as if the rest of the world didn’t even exist.
[17:41] [Ed] No performance was going on.
And they were just carrying on like…
[17:44] [Phoebe] A conversation over a loud music,
like they were talking about,
I don’t know, the end of the world
and they were just deep, deep into like…
Whatever.
And it didn’t look like sexy conversation
because they weren’t laughing or giggling.
[17:59] [Ed] Now I get if there had been multiple performers
and it had been an evening of entertainment
and you kind of wanted to like engage in conversation
with your people and it was more like background entertainment.
But it was like the…
A focused show.
And like we said, it was like three or four songs.
It’s not a lot of time.
Like there’s not a big time commitment there.
[18:20] [Unknown] I’m not missing out.
[18:22] [Ed] Why not pause anyway?
[18:23] [Phoebe] I don’t know.
Personally, I found it offensive.
People, I just find some people…
I thought it was disrespectful.
But you know, that’s me.
That’s my background.
I just thought, you know, if someone’s performing,
you give them the respect of giving them your attention.
But that was not the case.
But that’s all right.
She was excellent.
And the music was pretty good.
Early on, the DJ was great.
He was doing some, you know, EDM.
That was 80s and then 70s.
And then after an ILO performed,
he switched over some other stuff that I wasn’t too fond of.
Just because it kind of lacked the words.
And I liked a little more.
[19:02] [Ed] Yeah, it was…
It was with my music.
It wasn’t very…
[19:06] [Unknown] I don’t know.
[19:08] [Phoebe] It was a different EDM genre.
[19:10] [Unknown] Yeah.
Less words more.
[19:12] [Ed] Not big fans.
[19:13] [Phoebe] More musical.
So we actually left around 11.30.
We talked to some people.
And like I said, it was low-key.
We left the evening around 11.30 and…
[19:27] [Unknown] Came back to the room.
[19:28] [Ed] Came back to the room.
[19:29] [Phoebe] So here’s the recap on the resort.
And some of the conversations we’ve had a lot of conversations
with people, you know, in the evening.
And during the pool,
[19:41] [Unknown] we met a lot of people of different,
[19:45] [Phoebe] in different tax brackets,
mostly in a tax bracket that has far outside our own.
[19:51] [Unknown] Yeah.
[19:52] [Phoebe] We’re talking two degrees away from Elon Musk kind of tax bracket.
And I say that…
[20:00] [Ed] We’re not just like idly throwing Elon’s name into this.
This guy actually kind of knows Elon kind of thing.
[20:06] [Unknown] The X-Wife…
Right.
[20:10] [Phoebe] Has been no parties.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So we’re like, OK.
[20:16] [Unknown] And then, I’m like, oh, that’s cool.
[20:21] [Phoebe] Right?
I love it.
I mean, it’s fun.
But now you know what the kind of clientele is here.
And I’m curious so I started asking,
well then how do you find the facilities?
Because a lot of people really like desire and pearl.
And I know how catered it is there.
I know you can buy the pen houses and things like that.
And the food has changed out every day.
And I mean, or it’s just stellar.
Food here is the same pretty much every day.
A little bit of variety.
And knowing, you know, what it’s like here, I asked.
You know, so I do.
And so people were a little…
[21:01] [Unknown] They were very nice about it.
[21:04] [Phoebe] Yes.
But it’s not what they expected.
[21:06] [Ed] They were…
They didn’t dislike it.
But they definitely pointed out the differences between the two.
Right.
But it wasn’t quite up to the usual kind of desire standards
that they were familiar with.
[21:21] [Phoebe] And I get that.
And that’s why I pointed that out.
Desire at Pearl.
Because if you’ve been there, it’s kind of…
I can imagine it’s going to be pretty hard to match that.
Right.
So…
Yeah, they were underwhelmed.
But, you know, there’s still…
They’re still having a good time.
Yeah.
But I will honestly say I don’t think they would do this one again.
[21:45] [Unknown] So…
[21:49] [Phoebe] Yeah, so I guess I would say if you are used to going down desire
twice a year, you’re used to that kind of luxury
or if you want to spend $400 to $3,600 a night on a hotel,
which some of these people do.
Some people are going to leave tomorrow.
And not tomorrow, but at the end of seven days,
go across the way to the four seasons.
The four seasons spend $3,600 a night on their hotel.
If you are that kind of person, you probably won’t like this resort.
But that doesn’t mean a little V can’t do another lifestyle
takeover somewhere at a different resort.
And I would humbly suggest that they do,
because it’s just too spread out.
It’s beautiful.
It’s absolutely beautiful.
[22:34] [Unknown] But you kind of need the restricting confining thing
[22:39] [Phoebe] that we talk about.
[22:40] [Ed] Yeah, you kind of push people together to build energy.
Yes.
Right?
[22:44] [Unknown] It’s like that vision reaction, right?
[22:46] [Ed] You know, the tighter the bodies are together,
the more energy gets pumped out.
Below her pool is a classic example of that,
where there’s enough people,
and it’s a small enough space where you kind of have to flirt
with people.
You kind of have to like, you know, make sexy comments
because they’re right there.
[23:05] [Phoebe] Yeah.
And it’s fun.
Like, so when we were on the cruise,
the blue cruise, that’s why I liked it.
[23:12] [Unknown] The promenade.
[23:13] [Phoebe] The promenade, because it was so packed,
you couldn’t help but bump and rub into people,
[23:19] [Unknown] which sparked, oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.
[23:22] [Phoebe] Oh, hi.
My name’s, you know, Phoebe, my name’s the end of the,
and then I was a conversation.
[23:29] [Ed] You get to see everybody’s costume
because everybody’s being pushed through that small narrow,
[23:34] [Unknown] you know.
[23:35] [Phoebe] Yeah.
And you have a crap ton of conversation
because you’re kind of bumping.
Oh, excuse me, pardon me.
Oh, hi.
And then as you’re pushing by someone,
you’re rubbing your breasts against their back,
or their front, oh, hi, pardon me.
Excuse me, pardon me.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, I gotta go back this way again.
Mm-hmm.
Right.
So fun.
[23:52] [Ed] It does.
That’s why.
It totally builds those.
Yes.
It’s sexy, inadvertent, contact situations.
And you end up having conversation.
We probably wouldn’t have approached the yoga couple.
[24:07] [Guest] Right.
[24:08] [Ed] But I happened to, like, walk past them
and he struck up a conversation
because it was a small enough space
where that’s where you just had to walk.
[24:20] [Unknown] Yep.
Yep.
And it’s great.
It was great.
So, you know.
[24:25] [Ed] And I’ll also say, when we’ve stayed down here in Haco,
the resort down there is even more low-key,
more relaxed, smaller.
It’s still beautiful, but it’s a little bit more rustic,
and this is a little bit more refined.
[24:45] [Phoebe] A little more refined.
But they kind of feel this.
I hear, I get what you’re saying,
but they still feel the same to me, honestly.
[24:55] [Ed] They’re very similar.
I think this has that kind of grandeur to it,
because there’s the big hotel up on the hill,
and then everything’s kind of spread across.
[25:04] [Unknown] Right.
[25:05] [Ed] You know, they’ve got the lights,
and the sweeping, strong staircases down,
and it’s all the, you know, columns and balustrades
and blah, blah, blah, blah, right?
[25:15] [Phoebe] Which is really not my thing.
I like the small, intimate, boutique, cute,
like little nooks and places to hide away,
and gardens, and all that, which is…
[25:27] [Ed] Yeah, we loved the smaller boutique resort,
because of the…
They’re intimate.
The kind of, how hugged you felt by the jungle, right?
Yes.
Like you were wrapped up in all of the flowers,
and the trees, and the monkeys jumping across the roof,
and it was just, you just felt like you were closer to nature,
and here’s definitely more of the traditional resort.
[25:52] [Unknown] Like if this place could be in Palm Springs.
[25:56] [Phoebe] Oh, sure.
[25:57] [Ed] Yeah.
It’s…
You don’t really, other than the types of trees that are here?
Right.
It’s just a hotel.
Like it’s just a big, spread-out hotel.
Right.
[26:07] [Unknown] Right.
[26:08] [Ed] Not good, not bad, just bad.
[26:12] [Unknown] Yeah.
[26:13] [Phoebe] I think the main complaint is,
just people don’t really like doing all the walking back and forth
to their room.
It’s too far for them.
[26:21] [Ed] And we lucked out, for some reason,
I don’t know how we got the nearest building to…
[26:26] [Phoebe] Everything.
[26:27] [Ed] Everything.
We’re close to the disco, so for theme night,
Phoebe doesn’t have to, like, take a shuttle
or hike all the way up a hill.
We’ve got 70 steps that we go up and down.
Right.
[26:40] [Phoebe] It’s not that bad.
[26:41] [Ed] It’s not that bad, I know.
But we’ve got friends who are on the other side of the compound.
They’re, like, the farthest building away.
And they can’t, they just can’t walk.
[26:50] [Unknown] Yeah.
[26:51] [Phoebe] You have to bring your shoes, your backup pair,
your high heel shoes with you,
and walk over in your flip-flops.
[26:56] [Unknown] Right.
And that’s what some people do.
[26:59] [Phoebe] So, you know, kudos to LOV for trying out this resort,
but knowing their clientele,
I don’t think it’s going to be the best choice.
I don’t think they’re going to get people to come back.
[27:09] [Ed] Yeah.
And I think the other piece of conversation
that was had yesterday wasn’t so much the resort
or the food, which I think is a factor.
But it’s probably a smaller factor,
because I think anybody who comes to Central America kind of knows
it’s not the four seasons in Beverly Hills.
Right.
It is still a moderately impoverished third world country.
[27:33] [Unknown] Mm-hmm.
[27:34] [Ed] Maybe second world.
But it’s a little bit more rustic than you would get back in the state.
Right.
Which we love.
[27:42] [Phoebe] I love, because if I can get that,
I can’t get the four seasons in the United States.
Why would I come here to see the same damn shit?
[27:50] [Ed] It’s like getting McDonald’s in a foreign country.
Why would you get a hamburger?
I enjoy the food.
Anyway.
Yeah.
But I think that the other aspect of Costa Rica,
which some people have kind of alluded to,
was the shows were really elaborate in a lot of the other places.
So when they did Cabo,
they had truckloads of gear,
like little like shirt to sole,
kind of shows going on.
So this is definitely very low-key.
[28:21] [Phoebe] And logistically difficult to get those types of entertainers here.
[28:26] [Ed] Yes.
So the live bands, you know, the music every night,
we were supposed to have violin and sax,
pretty much every night.
We had one sax at the beginning,
and we had one violin at the end,
and it was left.
Like it was super brief.
So it seems like they’ve,
they’re not able to put on the same level of show
that they used to put on at the other events.
And I think some people have noticed that.
It’s been good for us.
[28:57] [Unknown] Right.
[28:58] [Phoebe] Yeah.
When I say logistics, it’s flights,
which were very difficult for four people on the West Coast
to get easier for people in the middle states
and east.
Yeah, there always is.
I don’t know.
I don’t know why.
So weird on the West Coast.
With San Francisco being right there,
I’m not sure.
And then, well, the roads, you know,
here aren’t that great.
So, you know, traffic.
And so there you go, logistics.
Overall, I think the vacation is designed
for definitely lifestyle people,
but not swingers.
I mean, if you swing,
the swinging aspect is kind of the
afterthought.
But it’s more geared towards people
[29:44] [Unknown] that just want to, you know,
[29:46] [Phoebe] be naked and sexy.
Hang out.
[29:48] [Unknown] Be safe.
[29:49] [Phoebe] Get sexy and sexy.
And, yeah.
Do their thing.
So, that’s all right.
I know.
Just wasn’t what we were expecting,
[29:55] [Unknown] but there you go.
[29:59] [Ed] But there you go.
[30:00] [Phoebe] So we’re going to head down to the pool,
hook up with our yoga friends,
[30:04] [Unknown] and go have some sex.
[30:07] [Phoebe] Thanks everyone for listening.
