Basically[Phoebe] back in 1948[Unknown] uh[Phoebe] A researcher from the Kinsey Institute[Phoebe] Did a self-reported study he put it uh an ad in a magazine something like that and said hey send me some of your dick size[Phoebe] You know, blah[Phoebe] And so people did and he didn't report it for[Phoebe] He didn't actually publish it for a really long time and in a couple decades even exactly a couple decades[Phoebe] And somewhere around the 80s and 90s did this maybe it was the 70s 80s the report came out there would be a blog on this[Unknown] where[Phoebe] Researchers picked up that study and they started publishing the information right right and so[Phoebe] Go ahead. So now we're 20 years, right[Phoebe] No one's verified this. It's not done in a controlled environment. That's the thing. This is self-reported[Ed] I was under the impression that the Kinsey Institute was a[Ed] reputable scientific institute that that ran pure peer-reviewed scientific studies and they normally do they are but back then[Ed] They didn't because this was a 1948[Ed] Yeah, but even then we had science in the 40s. I know but but this particular study[Ed] They either felt awkward about actually people[Ed] Coming in becoming a wrecked and whipping it out on a table with a ruler and having a nurse or a technician[Ed] Measure their cock right should they yeah, they had people self-report, which of course you go[Ed] Well, holy shit. So I read it right and[Ed] it's[Ed] Disturbing to me to to re-read this again[Ed] now[Ed] Understanding a little bit more about science and biases and how statistics lie and all that kind of stuff[Ed] How far off the mark this whole thing was and how[Phoebe] Really it never should have been published at all. I know, but I don't want to bash them too much there[Ed] They are very reputable now. I'm gonna smack them around with my cock[Phoebe] Because this is just because bullshit reported because you already[Phoebe] Indicated that you know they somehow didn't follow all the scientific[Phoebe] Rules of a study because this was very[Phoebe] um[Phoebe] Socially unacceptable, right? They may have even reported the results with that self-reported[Ed] disclaimer in it[Ed] but if you're not[Ed] Reading through that with a critical eye. Yeah, you don't necessarily pick apart[Ed] The self-reported part in conjunction with the numbers that are in the middle of the report[Ed] That's a pretty distinct[Unknown] That's a pretty[Ed] Specific distinction that you need to make and you'd have to be a researcher in order to go[Ed] Oh, wait a second base itself reported.
